Accommodation Concern, an independent charity dedicated to preventing homelessness and alleviating poverty, has joined the Welingborough & East Northants Chamber of Commerce as a member.

Based in Kettering, Accommodation Concern provides vital services aimed at ending homelessness, building independence, and enhancing the well-being of individuals facing financial hardships.

Accommodation Concern offers a comprehensive suite of free services to individuals aged 18 and over, focusing on housing advice, debt management, and welfare benefits support. Their mission is to empower individuals by providing expert guidance on eviction processes, tenant rights, and mediation with landlords, councils, and housing associations. Additionally, their Money & Debt Advice team helps clients navigate budgeting and access debt solutions, while their Welfare Benefits Advice ensures that everyone receives the benefits they are entitled to.

One of the standout features of Accommodation Concern’s work is their Supported Accommodation program, which goes beyond providing shelter. This initiative helps single adults facing homelessness build essential life skills, boost confidence, and prepare for independent living through a structured resettlement process.

Jo Moore, CEO, said: “Joining the Wellingborough & East Northants Chamber of Commerce allows us to expand our reach and engage more effectively with the community we serve.

“Together, we can create a future where everyone in Northamptonshire has the opportunity to live their best life, free from the shackles of poverty and homelessness.”

The charity operates as a community resource, offering additional support such as access to grants, rent deposits, and food parcels in collaboration with local organisations. Their location at the top of Meadow Road in Kettering makes them easily accessible for those in need, and they actively engage with the community through various drop-in locations and Mind Crisis Cafés.

The Wellingborough & East Northants Chamber of Commerce is excited to support Accommodation Concern in its mission to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals facing homelessness and poverty. We encourage local businesses and community members to get involved, whether through volunteering, donations, or simply spreading the word about their important work.
