The Chamber Autumn Meeting is set to feature a diverse line up of speakers who will cover the impact and legacy of the Rushden Rotary Club, explore how generative AI can revolutionise business operations, and share valuable lessons on the synergy between businesses and charities.
Taking place on Friday, October 11, between 8am and 11am at The Hind Hotel in Wellingborough, NN8 1BY, the meeting is open to Chamber Members, business representatives and local stakeholders. Click here to book your place now.
Anton Rudgalvis, Vice President of The Rotary Club of Rushden, will introduce the The Rotary Club to attendees by detailing what Rotary is – and more importantly what Rotary is not. It has been improving the lives of people locally, nationally and internationally for almost 90 years and this will be an opportunity for Chamber Members to find out just how it makes a difference to the lives of so many people.
Anton has been a Rotarian for 8 years and heads up the Membership and Retention Committee of the Club. His part time day job as a Change Management Consultant sees him work with a number of SMEs, helping them develop comprehensive strategies and effective change plans.
Following Anton’s presentation, Eric Bye of Erictron AI will host an interactive session about generative AI. He will cover a brief introduction on how it works, how to think about integrating it into your business and how it can add value from efficiency to revenue, with some live demonstrations. It’s designed for anyone, whether you use it regularly or have never tried it.
Since his first job in tech at an AI startup over a decade ago, Eric has worked across various businesses, from being the first full-time employee leading operations at a tech startup to leading digital transformation teams in enterprise. In his roles, Eric worked closely with teams ranging from marketing and product to legal and customer service. His background in operations leadership and his deep understanding of integrating new technology into existing businesses make him well-suited to help companies harness these new tools. For the first time, these innovations have made AI accessible, affordable and valuable to businesses of all sizes.
The final talk of the meeting will be given by Glennis Hooper, founder of Crazy Hats. Last year, Glennis was appointed an MBE in the New Year Honours due to her charitable work. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, Crazy Hats raised almost £3.5m in its 20 years. In total, the charity has held 17 sponsored walks at Kettering’s Wicksteed Park, as well as hundreds of smaller events.
After a short introduction to Crazy Hats and her book, Glennis will discuss the development of the charity, from working with and learning from businesses in the process of building a charity up, to raising the profile of both business and charity.
The Wellingborough Chamber of Commerce invites all interested individuals to attend the Autumn Meeting. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with some of the leading figures in the area and hear from the Chamber President, Donna French, Centre Manager Rushden Lakes.
