Members of the Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce are being offered a £100 discount on project management training courses designed to help you manage your projects more effectively and with positive outcomes.

The Bedford College Group is pleased to announce its new PRINCE2 Project Management training courses are going to be held at the Tresham College Wellingborough campus, NN8 4PD, from Monday, December 4 to Friday, December 8, 2023.

The Foundation only course is taking place from Monday, December 4 until Wednesday, December 6 with the exam taking place on Friday, December 8. From Thursday, December 7 until Friday, December 8, the Practitioner only course will be taking place and the exam will be on Friday, December 15, however, attendees must have already completed the Foundation course. There is also an option to take a Combined Foundation & Practitioner Course from Monday, December 4 to Friday, December 8 with the exam taking place on Friday, December 15.

Ordinarily, Foundation only costs £1,145, Practitioner only costs £1,195 and the Combined Course costs £2,195. However, the organisers are giving any Chamber member a £100 discount if they book the Combined Foundation & Practitioner Course, meaning it would cost them £2,095 instead of £2,195.

  • PRINCE2 Foundation course (6th edition) – provides an introduction to the PRINCE2 methodology and terms and prepares you to work as part of a project team
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner course (6th edition) – provides the theoretical knowledge of how to plan, manage and deliver projects from start to finish and prepares you to run a project team

As a globally recognised, gold-standard project management qualification, PRINCE2 is widely requested on person specifications for a range of job roles and will give you the tools and the knowledge to manage projects successfully, however big or small they may be.

The benefits of project management training

The Bedford College Group said: “Not all projects are large in scale and expensive, like building a bridge, re-routing a motorway or installing new IT systems. Smaller, less obvious projects are being planned and implemented every day by people like you – but they still need to be managed within set timescales, within budget constraints and ideally without high levels of stress and aggravation.

“You could be organising a conference or an exhibition, a refurbishment or relocation, a rebranding or a merger – or designing a new catalogue, integrating new software or preparing for a specific calendar event that’s important for your product or service. Each one of these assignments is a project in its own right – a set of tasks that must be completed within a defined timeline to accomplish a specific set of goals. There will be staffing implications – who does what by when – and monetary considerations – and if the project falls behind schedule there can be consequences – negative feedback or reputational damage, increasing costs or staffing issues to name just a few.

“But with some proper project management training, all your projects can be managed more effectively and with positive outcomes.”

If you would like to feel more confident and more organised managing the many projects your business has to juggle, then book your place on this December training to ensure 2024 is a year of smooth and stress-free project planning!
