Do you know of an exceptional volunteer in the community or someone who dedicates their time to helping others, whether that is making Wellingborough greener, encouraging diversity or leading on community projects?
Wellingborough Town Council is calling for people to nominate others and celebrate their hard work through its Citizens Award Scheme. It is a great opportunity to put forward individuals, volunteers and community groups that have made an exceptional contribution to making Wellingborough a better place to live, work and raise a family.
The awards will be presented at an individual ceremony, where all nominees will be invited to attend. Winners will be announced on the night and presented with a certificate from the Mayor. This event will take place at the Annual Town Meeting of the Council next year, 2024, between March 1 and June 1.
To ensure that that a range of fantastic people who live and work in the town are recognised, there are six categories to nominate from. Individuals from all walks of life and all sections of the community who have made a difference to the ‘Town’ of Wellingborough are eligible. The nominee must have made an outstanding contribution to the Town such as the nominee’s contribution can be seen to stand above the contributions made by most other people.
Categories
- The Outstanding Community Champion – An individual in the town who has gone above and beyond to help and support vulnerable people and communities – this could be caring through those in need, or someone who organises local community projects or events.
