The director of a company dedicated to supporting autistic people in accessing employment has been announced as keynote speaker for this year’s Wellingborough and East Northants Chamber of Commerce Summer Meeting.
Thomas Cliffe, founder of social enterprise Track, will be delivering his presentation ‘Does your business support every individual to thrive? A different perspective’ to attendees of the event taking place at Stanwick Lakes on Friday 22 September.
Thomas had been working in mainstream and special needs schools for over a decade, when he realised that a different approach was needed to support individuals to access and thrive in employment, leading to the establishment of Track in 2018.
Thomas’ passion for helping people secure employment has seen more than 100 people receive support to enter paid work and over 150 people into work experience placements.
The enterprise even has their own Café Track in Northampton, which is used to give individuals an opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive and professional environment.
Track also works alongside businesses to raise awareness of inclusion, diversity and ways in which they can bring a new range of skills to the workplace whilst making small environmental changes to help their employees thrive.
Thomas hopes that his introductory session will start a conversation leading to creating opportunities and changing people’s lives.
The Chamber’s Summer Meeting will take place on Friday, September 22nd between 7.00am and 10.00am at Stanwick Lakes in Stanwick, Wellingborough, NN9 6GY, and is going to be used as an opportunity to bring the local business community together.
The event will include a light breakfast, a panel discussion and talks with the Chamber President Pritesh Ganatra, the Department for Work and Pensions’ Katy Johnson, and Northamptonshire Health Charity’s Nick Hayton and Alison McCulloch. There will also be an opportunity for networking.
