Wellingborough can enjoy an afternoon of live music and admire vintage cars this September.
The Corby Silver Band and the amazing vocalist ‘Jennah’ will entertain an audience in Bassetts Close park on Sunday 10th September from 1pm – 3:30 p.m. and is free for everyone to attend. The Concert in the Park is one of many events happening in Northamptonshire as part of the Nene Valley Festival.
Leader of Wellingborough Town Council, Councillor Graham Lawman says “We are lucky to have two wonderful bandstands in Wellingborough and I’m delighted that we are able to continue the very popular open-air concerts with two excellent acts there. So, bring your deck chairs along and relax, listening to music in one of our beautiful parks as well as view vintage cars.”
Refreshments will be available in the park, but, why not bring a picnic along and enjoy a relaxing afternoon listening to the beautiful music from the Corby Silver Band and Jennah.
Wellingborough Mayor, Cllr Valerie Anslow ‘This event is sure to bring a smile to your face, as it will mine! Who can listen to a silver band and not feel happier. Bassetts Close is a Victorian Park which is the ideal place for this event during Heritage Week when we can imagine that a hundred years ago people were enjoying this open space, the music and the wonderful avenue of copper beech trees. All we need is good weather to make it a perfect Sunday afternoon event.’
