Bookings are now open for the 42nd International Waendel Walks encompassing the natural beauty of North Northamptonshire Countryside and the Nene Valley.

The walks are taking place from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th May, 2023, at Castle Theatre – the start and finish point of all the walks. You can book your place on any of the walks until 12pm on Friday, 12th May. Find out more and book your place here.

Friday, 12th May – Friendship Walk

  • 5km, start time between 6pm and 6:30pm (Wheelchair and buggy accessible – all on footpaths)

Saturday, 13th May

  • 5km, 10am start, latest start time 12 noon (Wheelchair and buggy accessible – all on footpaths)
  • 10km, 9:30am start, latest start time 12 noon
  • 15km, 9am start, latest start time 12 noon
  • 25km, 8am start, latest start time 11am
  • 42km, 7am start, latest start time 9am

Sunday, 14th May

  • 5km, 10am start, latest start time 12noon (Wheelchair and buggy accessible – all on footpaths)
  • 10km, 9:30am start, latest start time 12 noon
  • 15km, 9am start, latest start time 12 noon
  • 25km, 8am start, latest start time 11am
  • 42km, 7am start, latest start time 9am

This event is organised by Wellingborough Town Council and supported by the Waendel Walk Working Group. The International Waendel Walk is the only IML Walking Association event in the UK. There will be IML Walking Association representatives at the event in May 2023 and you will be able to pick up a starter pack if you’re considering becoming an IML Walking Association Walker.
