The consultation on the admission arrangements for schools in North Northamptonshire for September 2024 is now open.

North Northamptonshire Council’s School Admissions Team is co-ordinating a formal consultation on the admissions arrangements which will apply for mainstream schools within the local authority (LA) area for the September 2024 intakes (Primary, Junior and Secondary).

This consultation period, which allows parents, schools, religious authorities and the local community to comment on proposed admission arrangements, will close at midnight on Saturday, December 31, 2022.

North Northamptonshire Council is not consulting on the admission arrangements for Community and Voluntary Controlled schools for the 2024-2025 academic year.

North Northamptonshire Council said: “When changes are proposed to admission arrangements, all admission authorities must consult on their admission arrangements (including any supplementary information form) that will apply for admission applications the following school year.

“Where the admission arrangements have not changed from the previous year there is no requirement to consult. However, admission authorities must consult on their admission arrangements at least once every 7 years, even if there have been no changes during that period.”

North Northamptonshire Council co-ordinates an annual school admissions consultation on behalf of schools of all types in the council area, should they request to be included. The consultation aims to raise awareness of any proposed changes to school admission arrangements and invites comments from interested parties.

To make any comments about the school admission arrangements, please contact North Northamptonshire Council by email schooladmissionsconsultation.NCC@northnorthants.gov.uk or by post (Schools Admissions, North Northamptonshire Council, Tithe Barn Office Block, Tithe Barn Road, Wellingborough, NN8 1BN).
