A Wellingborough hotel has become the latest business to join the Wellingborough and East Northants Chamber of Commerce.

The ibis Wellingborough is looking forward to connecting with other businesses that are members of the “important institution”.

Located in Enstone Court, the hotel is part of the Accor Group and is mainly used by guests who need to stay overnight for business or leisure purposes.

Speaking about the recent choice to become a Chamber member, Vincenzo Squeo, the General Manager, said: “I believe that the Chamber of Commerce is an important institution. Connecting, Exchange and Awareness are the three key words which summarise the reason why we joined.

“I believe that being a member of the Chamber will help the ibis Wellingborough to be known not only as a place which offers accommodation, but also for the other services it can offer to non-residents. Furthermore, it will help to create partnerships with local businesses.”

Through its networking platforms, the Chamber enables businesses in Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire to interact and help each other, even if they belong to different sectors.

Vincenzo added: “Sometimes we place orders with suppliers located outside the country when there might be one a few miles away from us which we are not aware of. Being aware of local business and helping the local community is definitely something which can be achieved through participation on the platforms the Chamber offers to its members.”

The hotel

According to Vincenzo, the ibis Wellingborough has a great potential, with numerous ongoing projects.

He said: “We have different facilities not only open to residents but also to non-residents. We have a bar and restaurant (with pool table and board games), we can accommodate small banqueting events or business events in our meeting room and we will soon organise some events where the local community will be invited.”

Vincenzo has been responsible for all operations and all departments of the hotel since he began his role in April 2022. He has previously been responsible for operations in different hotels in London as Team Leader, Assistant Manager and Multi-Site Operations Manager. Utilising his background, he aims to develop ibis Wellingborough, its team and the quality of the services they offer to their guests.
