Entries are now open for businesses to enter this year’s Ethical Awards, which judges entries anonymously based fairly and truly on clearly defined criteria.

The awards are open to all businesses, with applications closing at 9pm on Monday, September 5. There are ten categories up for grabs, ranging from ‘business person’ and ‘innovation’ to ‘green’ and ‘technology’.

According to the organisers: “Being nominated for an award can be a great honour and a real asset when marketing your business and standing out from the crowd.

“Unfortunately, there are a number of award schemes out there where effectively you’re just buying the award and not earning it based on the merits of your business.”

The Ethical Awards prides itself on judging entries “against an identified set of criteria for each category, marked accordingly and truly awarded based on the outcome”.

What makes these awards different?
  • No need to attend an expensive ceremony to be eligible for an award
  • Clearly defined criteria on how your application is being judged
  • Level playing field for every entrant (no “buying” the award)
  • Entries anonymised for judges – no reference to the business/person
  • Easy application process – no long-winded tomes to complete
  • Feedback for unsuccessful nominations – so you can do better next time!
  • Single, one-off fee to enter (£25)*

*Unlike other award schemes that are free to enter, you are ultimately paying a lot more to stand a chance of winning (award dinner, advertising, etc.). Therefore, as this is a commercial venture, the admin needs to be covered; hence this nominal fee.
