A “brand new £15m visitor attraction”, The Chester House Estate, has joined the Wellingborough Chamber of Commerce business community.

Based in Wellingborough, the site with “10,000 years of Northamptonshire’s heritage brought to life” is built on the grounds of one of the largest roman towns in the country. It aims is to help the people of Northamptonshire connect to and appreciate their history.

Jack Pishhorn, Chester House Estate Business Manager, said: “We are delighted to join the Wellingborough Chamber of Commerce with the hope it will connect us with local businesses and individuals to increase our local collaborations with such things as cross marketing and events, sharing ideas, having the platform to promote our facilities, and of course promoting the Chester House brand in the local area.”

After opening its doors late last year, The Chester House Estate adds value to people’s lives by providing education, learning, and enjoyment. It prides itself on being a place where visitors of all ages can have a good time whilst connecting with the site’s past, present, and future.

Jack Pishhorn explained: “The Chester House Estate is a brand new £15m visitor attraction based in Irchester, Wellingborough. Our new business includes a large museum, free to enter 85-acre estate, café, bed and breakfast accommodation, artisan shopping village, wedding venue, conference facilities, learning centre, and is home to the second largest archaeological archiving centre in the UK.”

The archaeological digs that take place at the site, in partnership with The University of Leicester, encourage visitors and the community to get involved with history, dating as far back as the Mesolithic era (Middle Stone Age) from 8000 BC to 2700 BC.
