A shop which grows and sells gourmet mushrooms has received “fantastic feedback” from its growing customer base.
Shoots & Spores in Nene Court opened in October, and boasts a viewing window where visitors can catch a glance of the mushrooms being grown and picked, including Oyster and Lion’s Mane.
Dom Gara founded the business in 2020 and delivered to a restricted number of customers. He decided to open the Wellingborough shop to meet the growing customer base and demand for his gourmet mushrooms.
Dom revealed: “There has been a huge interest in these amazing ingredients and many studies are ongoing into the possible health benefits. Mushrooms are very delicate and have a short shelf life, so we know our customers appreciate the quality they receive when buying from Shoots & Spores.”
He continued: “We have had fantastic feedback so far. Visitors are impressed with the produce and also enjoy the experience of seeing the growing room.”
After the success of the business so far, Dom is hoping to partner with local Northamptonshire restaurants in the future.
