Entries have opened for the 2021 Wellingborough & East Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

Designed to celebrate commercial success, the awards are back and open to all businesses across the Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire area, not just existing members.

Entrants need to demonstrate excellence, specifically how they have made a pioneering approach to business as well as showing a commitment to furthering the prosperity of the area. This year a special ‘Covid Hero’ award is up for grabs.

Businesses can enter five categories, including: Services Business of the Year, Retail Business of the Year, Industry Award, Chamber Community Award and Covid Hero Award.

New Chamber President, Pritesh Ganatra The Director of BTS (UK), a technology consultancy business, said: “After a pause in the awards due to the global pandemic we are delighted to be back and able to provide this wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the success and hard work of businesses in our towns and villages.

“Despite the impact of a drawn out Brexit, the Covid-19 pandemic, the evolution of the retail sector, the unification of Northamptonshire Council’s and the everyday challenges facing every business, it’s clear that a good number of companies and organisations are flourishing and their hard work is very much paying off. We very much look forward to celebrating together.”

Those entering the business awards need not be members of the Chamber, but their business must be situated in the Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire area, or show a ‘significant commercial interest’ in the area.

Shortlisted entries will be announced on Wednesday, December 1 and winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony in December.
