More than 25 community groups across East Northamptonshire have been awarded funding for their projects thanks to East Northamptonshire Council’s (ENC) Communities Facilities Fund (CFF).
During a recent committee meeting, ENC Councillors agreed to award £208,417 to 27 groups for a variety of projects from essential maintenance to community buildings through to new sporting facilities. Since the CFF was started in 2013, nearly £3 million has been granted and 138 projects across East Northants have benefitted.
Three of the groups awarded funding in this round are: Stanwick Village Hall, Easton-on- the-Hill Parish Council and Nene District Anglers.
Stanwick Village Hall were awarded a grant of £9,939 which will be used to reduce the carbon footprint of the hall and Nene District Anglers will be receiving the maximum amount of £10,000 and using the monies to purchase a new tractor and flail.
Also receiving funds are Easton-on-the-Hill Parish Council, who will use a grant of £10,000 towards their playing fields improvement plan, which will benefit the whole community.

“Throughout East Northamptonshire Council’s history, we have always been proud to support community projects. Once again, we had an excellent response to the scheme and are pleased to support another 27 projects stretching across the length and breadth of the district.
“Since we launched CFF in 2013, we will have supported hundreds of well deserving community groups and as we move on to a new local government structure, I’m proud of the part we have played in creating better spaces for the whole district.”
Utilising funding received through the ‘New Homes Bonus’, the CFF was established to support and develop community facilities within East Northamptonshire and with the new North Northamptonshire Council coming into existence, this was last round of funding.
