There will obviously be a positive reaction to the election result in terms of a clear framework to move forward but Government will need to listen to Businesses, demonstrate that they have listened and deliver. We know that a significant number of companies have held off investing in expansion until there was more certainty on the political landscape. With a clear majority and mandate to press ahead with EU negotiations, business’ will expect and demand a more inclusive consultation with local and central government to help reinforce strong foundations for the future.
The Wellingborough & East Northants Chamber will be working hard to improve and enhance the link between local businesses and local government. The milestone following Brexit will be the creation of the proposed new Unitary Authority embracing Wellingborough, East Northants, Kettering & Corby. The Chamber is committed to ensuring that the ambitions and concerns of local businesses are voiced and heard.
The Chamber is fully conscious of the tremendous potential within the business community and will be working hard to ensure this potential is realised for the benefit of all.
