Work to install traffic lights, which respond to traffic volume, has begun at a busy Wellingborough junction.
The 10-week schedule of work to improve traffic flow in Broad Green, Harrowden Road and Gold Street, began on January 8.
There will also be changes to the road layout with the addition of new signal-controlled pedestrian crossings. There will no longer be a left turn at the top of Broad Green where it joins Harrowden Road.
Motorists will face delays whilst the work is being carried as Broad Green, outside One Stop shop to Outlaw Lane is closed. Vehicles are being diverted to the other side of Broad Green and traffic has been temporarily suspended in the south-west stretch, to ease traffic flow.
From Wednesday January 24 until March 16, three-way temporary traffic lights will be in use in Broad Green, Harrowden Road and Gold Street. There will also be a road closure in part of Hatton Avenue, closest to Broad Green.
