Parking provision at Rushden Lakes will increase to 1,900 when all phases are complete.

Planning permission has now been granted for phases two and three and a further three phases have been purchased by The Crown Estate from LXB Retail Properties Plc, the developer behind the scheme.

When complete, the multi-million-pound shopping complex will feature more than 40 shops, a 14-screen cinema, 18 restaurants, a boathouse and the Nene Wetlands Visitor Centre as well as five leisure providers.

Hannah Milne, director of regional retail at The Crown Estate, told the Northamptonshire Telegraph: “Rushden Lakes is the first destination of its kind. This innovative new centre has proven incredibly popular with shoppers and we are delighted to be furthering our investment. Future phases of Rushden Lakes will continue to transform customer and shopper expectations, and set the standard for other destinations to aspire to.”
