People living in Wellingborough are being urged to nominate their community champion.

Entries for the Community Award of the second annual Wellingborough Chamber of Commerce Business Awards are being sought.

Other categories businesses can enter include Services Business of the Year, Retail Business of the Year and Manufacturing Business of the Year.

Entry to all categories now closes at 6pm on Friday, September 29. The awards are designed to celebrate the town and surrounding area.

For the Community Award, entries need to demonstrate how either a person or organisation has gone over and above in supporting the borough of Wellingborough, while also showing a commitment to furthering the appeal of the borough.

Rob Hart, chamber president, said: “As well as presenting and championing businesses in our great borough, we are also passionate about celebrating community causes.

“Our first awards, held last year, were a huge success, providing a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the success and hard work of businesses in our town.

“Last year, Glamis Hall won the Community Awards thanks to their stunning work in continuing to provide an invaluable community resource.

“We’re looking forward to hearing more heroic stories about people or organisations which are benefiting Wellingborough.”

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Wellingborough Golf Club due to take place in November that will include presentations from key note speakers.
