A Wellingborough commercial property agency has scooped a prestigious national award for being the most active agent and deal maker in Northamptonshire.

This is the fifth time that Prop-Search has claimed the title of Most Active Deal Maker and the third time the business has scooped an accolade for Most Active Agent.

The Estates Gazette Award means that Prop-Search had successfully completed more commercial property deals in the county than any other agent in the UK

Prop-Search Director Simon Toseland said: “The competition includes all agents – including the very substantial national agents based out of London – so it’s a real achievement for us and reinforces the effort made by our team (now 10) based in Wellingborough and Northampton.”

Mr Toseland has also been recruited by the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) to join its Envoy programme and help drive forward business growth across the region.

He has joined a small and select cohort of influential business leaders – from a wide range of industry sectors – all of whom have a common business interest in the South-East Midlands. As an Envoy, Simon will engage with businesses already in the area and identify ways of growing these businesses, encouraging start-up businesses and stimulating inward investment.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Toseland said: “Having specialised in advising on commercial property development, investment and agency for over 30 years, I look forward to being able to share business expertise with the SEMLEP Board, as well as influencing policy around local economic growth and job creation.”

All Envoys of SEMLEP work as part of a team to identify strategic priorities, influence central Government and local MPs, and bring resources into the SEMLEP area to deliver the essential infrastructure to enable growth. They meet regularly and are enthusiastic advocates of the opportunities and relationships that can be leveraged by SEMLEP. They also act in an advisory role, supporting other businesses, as well as serving as spokespersons for the region and the role of Local Enterprise Partnerships.

Simon has chaired the Wellingborough Town Centre Partnership for a number of years and was instrumental in establishing the Wellingborough Town Centre BID. He is also Senior Vice President and Ambassador for Wellingborough Chamber of Commerce and a Board Director of River Nene Regional Park CIC.
