The managing director of Transpower Group, a Wellingborough based engineer’s merchant, is encouraging everyone to get behind him in his fight against prostate cancer.
Steve Ranson, a longstanding member of the Wellingborough Chamber of Commerce, will take part in the Stanwick 10k run on Easter Monday, April 17 to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Mr Ranson, was diagnosed with aggressive stage 4 prostate cancer after a blood test revealed the amount of prostate specific antigen (PSA) in his blood was 5020 – 1000 times what it should be with the normal range for his age usually just five.
Steve has recently finished a course of chemotherapy and aims to raise as much money as he can for Protate Cancer UK in a bid to help beat cancer sooner.
