The team working to get The Castle theatre back on it’s feet is hopeful for a prosperous future and invites everyone to get behind them this Christmas.
A team of seven led by Hazel Clover was brought in by Wellingborough Council to re-open the venue in August after the company who ran the facility went into administration in June.
Since the team’s arrival a number of boxes have been ticked including the re-opening of the box office and the completion of compliance work on the building itself.
Christmas is on the horizon and organising a programme for the coming months has been at the top of the list of priorities with a third of tickets for Snow White On Ice sold already.
Other events lined up for the future include film showings, live broadcasts from the RSC and Frank’s Comedy Club as well as sing-along Grease.
Hazel said: “It was challenging, but it was about finding solutions.

“We also want community groups to talk to us about getting involved.”
Wellingborough Pantomime Society has committed to performing Cinderella in January and Frank’s restaurant, based within The Castle building, which stayed open throughout the theatre’s closure remains open.
Changes include a new logo, website and social media accounts to keep people in the loop.
People can sign up to a new mailing list, which has already collected 2,000 subscribers and 70 people recently attended a new Friends of the Castle group.
The team are busy working on bookings for next year and have already signed up some acts for 2018.
A report detailing the achievements of the team so far and plans for the future, will be presented to Wellingborough Council and council officers will produce a document regarding long-term plans for the theatre.
