BUSINESSES in Wellingborough are being encouraged to consider crowdfunding to help solve financial issues.

Crowdfunding is a great opportunity, both for those looking for investment or other business finance, and for investors.

The finance option is rapidly becoming the most popular and practical way of solving the funding gap for businesses whose banks are unable to support them, and is also an excellent opportunity for businesses and individuals to invest at a far higher rate of return than traditional mechanisms, often offering 10 to 12 per cent per annum and sometimes more.

Banks tend to operate on very strict criteria and may not always be able to take a commercial approach to lending propositions. In some instances, they are unable to consider a deal because it requires equity investment, and in others it simply falls outside their portfolios or risk criteria. Crowdfunding could be a way round this.

Business are invited to find out more about crowdfunding and how it works at a free event, hosted by Business Finance Services Ltd, on Tuesday, 20th September, at the Sturridge Suite in the new Barwell Stand at Franklins Gardens, home of Northampton Saints from 3:30pm to 6:00pm.

A spokesman for the event said: “We are delighted to have been able to secure the support of two of the UK’s biggest crowdfunding platforms, ThinCats and Crowdcube, who will be presenting, and answering questions about secured lending and equity investment respectively.  Refreshments will be served, and it will be a great opportunity to network with other business owners and senior decision-makers.”

“Please treat this as an open invitation to bring any of your colleagues, clients or contacts you believe might benefit from attending.”
