Organisations which support mentoring for young people are invited to apply for funding via the Careers and Enterprise Programme.
Earlier this year, the Government announced the launch of a national mentoring campaign to connect a new generation of mentors to pre-GCSE teens at risk of disengaging and under-performing. The Careers & Enterprise Company is coordinating this new pot of funding, which is designed to extend the reach of proven mentoring programmes in order to build capacity.
You may be eligible to become a funded partner of the National Mentoring Programme if your programme targets pre-GCSE young people in years 8, 9 and 10, who are at risk of disengaging and underperforming.
The Careers and Enterprise Company are looking for committed partners with strong records of delivery who are passionate about expanding existing successful mentoring delivery into new areas, and reaching more students in the areas where they currently deliver.
Organisations with a strong track record of bringing together employers/business volunteers and young people, and have an appetite to extend their activity to include mentoring, will also be considered.
Successful organisations will be expected to coordinate provision closely with the SEMLEP’s Careers & Enterprise Programme.
Initial contracts will be awarded for a period of 23 months, from November 2016 to September 2018, with a possible extension for a further 12 to 24 months based on successful contract delivery.
The deadline for submitting applications is 19th August, 2016.
