Real ale fans almost drank a town beer festival dry after downing nearly 3,200 pints at the weekend.
The event was regarded as the “most successful” in 15 years with over 1,000 people getting a chance to sample a variety of the ales and ciders on offer.
The three day event, organised by the Wellingborough Chamber of Commerce, kicked off on Thursday, May 12th and took place at the All Saints Church Hall, Midland Road.
Alan Piggot, organiser and Chamber executive committee member, said: “The event was our most successful in 15 years.
“It was great to see so many people come along and try a range of real ales and ciders. We can’t thank our sponsors enough, as without their help this event would not have been possible.
“The entertainment proved to be hugely popular and the food went down a treat with everyone who attended.
“Hopefully we can continue to put on a great event in the year’s to come and carry on from the success of this year’s event.”
A local scout group provided BBQ food over the course of the event as they recorded their best takings ever from the festival.
Attendees not only had the chance to sample over 40 real ciders, ales and wines, but they were entertained by local bands on each night.
