A new campaign aimed at resettling ex-military personnel in Northamptonshire is to be launched at a recruitment fair in May.

The dedicated recruitment fair, which is to be held at the Northampton Saints Rugby Football Club, will champion the county as the ideal place to live and work after leaving the forces.

As well as promoting the career development opportunities in High Performance Technologies, Construction and Logistics available in the county, the event on Wednesday, May 4 will explore the benefits of living in Northamptonshire.

Backed by a host of local businesses as well as the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Association Job Agency, more than 100 skilled and experienced job seeking individuals are expected to attend the event on Wednesday, May 4.

Speaking about his career after life in The Corps of Royal Engineers, David Rouse, project manager at Axon Automotive, said: “Since leaving the forces I have worked in the automotive industry in Europe, the USA and China with companies including Jaguar, Land Rover and BMW.

“I’ve lived in Northamptonshire for two years now; with a huge network of performance engineering companies, the county is an excellent place for post-forces career development.”
