Northamptonshire businesses are being invited to ‘open their doors’ to young people from across the county.
In a bid to forge stronger links with secondary schools and to help inspire young people, county-based employers are being urged to take part in the Open Doors 2016 programme.
Following the success of the same programme last year, Northamptonshire businesses are being to use the iniative to their advantage in capitalising on young people’s talents and to strengthen the county’s future workforce.
Between Monday, June 20 and Wednesday, July 13, employers will offer tours of their workplace and talk to young people about different aspects of the sector they reside in.
Kerry Senatore, education business manager at the Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership (NEP), said on their website: “The Open Doors programme is an opportunity to offer students the chance of meeting inspiring members of a local workforce.
“We need Northamptonshire employers from a wide range of industry sectors to give our young people a first-hand understanding of the day to day life of people in key roles in different types of businesses as well as the key attributes, skills and qualifications required.”
Last years programme saw companies such as Barclays, GE Precision Engineering, Galliford Try and Knights of Old take part in the initiative.
