The Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership (NEP) was recently ranked third in the country by a European magazine for attracting new investors.
In first place was Greater Manchester’s Local Enterprise Partnership while Liverpool was awarded runners-up by the fDi Magazine’s European Cities and Regions of the Future list for its work in bringing new investment to the county.
The magazine recognised NEP’s excellent work in the category of ‘Local Enterprise Partnerships of the Future 2016/17 – foreign Direct investment (fDi) strategy’.
Jo Lappin, CEO of NEP, issued a statement on their website which said: “I am delighted that NEP has received national recognition for the work that we are doing to promote Northamptonshire as the place to live, work and invest.
“fDi magazine has confirmed that our strategy to encourage international businesses to locate here has all of the right ingredients for success, and we are already seeing the results of this. Only this week, I am working closely with two major international investors, who are considering locating new businesses in Northamptonshire.”
“Working closely with our local, regional and national partners, I am confident that we will continue to attract new investors to Northamptonshire, who are keen to grow their business and create high quality jobs for local people.
“This award really shows that Northamptonshire’s profile is growing nationally and internationally, with investors recognising the fabulous offer that we have here – an exceptional location, great workforce, a comprehensive business support offer and a real ‘can do’ attitude.
“This comes hot on the heels of January’s Centre for Cities Outlook 2016, which put Northampton as the second best place to start a business, with only London doing better. Clear evidence that Northamptonshire really is punching above its weight.”
