Wellingborough businesses are being invited to apply for up to £35,000 in funding in order to create skills and opportunities before the deadline closes.
The Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest Skills and Opportunity Fund opened last week but only has two weeks before their deadline with applications closing on Friday, February 19 at midday.
The funding aims to support organisations that help people in disadvantaged communities develop by creating or access skills and opportunities in their region.
The fund is split into seven regions in order to distribute the funding evenly. Despite the regions looking to fund projects that enable people to help themselves, each will have differing priorities based on regional differences.
Last year more than £2.5m was committed to fund projects in charities, social enterprises, community groups, state-funded schools and colleges across the UK and Ireland, with the same amount available this year.
A statement on their website read: “Our focus for this funding is to support organisations that help people in disadvantaged communities develop, create or access the skills and opportunities they need to help themselves; skills that will enable them to get into work or start a business, now or in the future.
“We believe that helping people gain such skills and access opportunities to learn can help turn their lives around and build better communities for everyone; when we build stronger communities, we all grow.
“We want to support as many people and organisations as possible. So even if we don’t shortlist your project, we may be able to help you in other ways. This might include offering our skills and expertise to help you get your project off the ground in addition to a grant.”
