A Wellingborough business has supported an appeal to refurbish the Kettering General Hospital’s staff recreation hall.

T&K Home Improvements of Huxley Close on Park Farm South has fitted £15,000 worth of desperately needed new windows and fire doors to the Recreation Hall for free.

The appeal is being organised by a team of volunteers from both the hospital and its supporters in the local community.

One of the appeal organisers, and a Kettering General Hospital staff governor, Fiona Barber, told the Northants Telegraph: “We asked T&K Home Improvement to give us a quote for the work and were absolutely delighted when they offered to do the work for free because they felt it was such a good cause.

“We can’t thank them enough for supporting our appeal and doing their bit for the local community.

“They have saved us many thousands of pounds and helped us to make sure this ageing building has some excellent new modern windows and fire doors.”

T&K’s managing director Ryan Johnson also told the Northants Telegraph: “We wanted to support the Revive the Rec Hall Appeal when we realised it was a charitable venture to benefit both the hospital’s staff as well as the local community.

“It was a great opportunity for T&K to say thank you to the hospital staff from whom many of our own staff and customers have received excellent care over the years.

“T&K has been installing energy efficient windows, doors, conservatories and home improvement products in this community for more than 36 years, so it is good to be able to give something back to that community.”
