A new McDonalds restaurant which has created 35 new jobs has had its official opening.

The new drive-thru restaurant in London Road was officially opened by Wellingborough mayor Barry Graves.

The new restaurant opens as the branch in the town centre has completely closed. The new store features new state-of-the-art designs and offers digital menu boards and tablet computers on some of the restaurant tables for customers to enjoy.

The digital boards allow customers to browse the entire menu and check out the nutritional information of each food product at the same time.

Once customers have completed their order, they have the option to pay by card or contactless, and then go straight to the counter to await pick up their order.

McDonald’s products will be made specially to order for customers, with every burger and wrap being freshly prepared thanks to new lay-outs and increased technology.

Local McDonald’s franchisee Perry Akhtar, who is operating the restaurant, now runs six restaurants across Wellingborough, Raunds and Northampton.
