Poundland has announced plans to open a new store in Wellingborough town centre following its takeover of 99p Stores.

The store is due to open early next year and will provide more than 3,500 products at just £1 each.

With more than 600 stores nationwide, Poundland stocks a variety of the nation’s favourite brands including Cadbury’s, Heinz and Coca-Cola as well as a mix of household essentials to health and beauty buys.

The new Poundland store will be the first in the area, as currently the closest outlet is in Kettering.

Poundland’s retail director Martin Dawson told the Northants Telegraph: “Poundland has grown significantly over the past 12 months and it’s fantastic to see this expansion continuing with a new store in Wellingborough.

“We’re looking forward to opening our doors.”
