A shopper peruses the cakes and pastries at last year's Continental Market in WellingboroughMarket traders from across Europe will be arriving in Wellingborough on Thursday for the town’s Continental Market.

Fresh bread, olives, cheeses, pastries and sausages will be on sale at the market which takes place in Market Street, opposite Colemans, and runs from Thursday to Saturday between and 10am and 4pm.

More than 20 stall holders from France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Holland and many more countries will be wearing traditional costumes and selling a wide selection of authentic European foods.

As well as the delectable tasty goods, there will also be a wide range of products including handbags and leather items, Marseille soaps, lavender, children’s toys and pashminas.

It has been organised by the Wellingborough Business Improvement District (BID), which stages promotions and events.

John Cable, manager of the BID, said: “With free parking and plenty of independent shops, our town centre has a lot to offer. We organise events such as the Continental Market to help make Wellingborough Northamptonshire’s number one shopping destination for independent retailers.”
