[singlepic id=16 w=320 h=240 float=right]The 11th annual Wellingborough Chamber Beer Festival was a great success and we had near record attendances. Folks from around Wellingborough and surrounding villages supped their way through more than 40 barrels of real ales and ciders over the three day event. Eleven brand new ales, some local such as Harts from Wellingborough went on sale for the first time and Harts who had three different ales at the show were the first to sell out, showing great support for a new local business.
Live entertainment over the three evenings proved popular with Shannondore on Thursday, Dr Busker & His Revolting Peasants on Friday and new band Brick Top on Saturday, all of whom came from within a five mile radius of the town proving what great talent we have in the area.
The British Red Cross were our charity for this year’s festival and money was raised through a beer quiz and a raffle to win a superb portrait of Dr Busker.
We would like to thank our glass sponsors, Nigel David Lettings, Evans Cook Solicitors and We Buy Houses plus barrel sponsors Turnell & Odell, Barton Telecom Services Ltd, W Norton & Sons, The Red Lion at Broughton and Promote it Ltd.
We will now be setting our sights on next year’s May festival, so if you want to be a part of it get in touch with Alan Piggot or David Cross at the Chamber and ask about sponsorship or other ways in which you can get involved.
