Local Enterprise Partnership for Northamptonshire
The Wellingborough Chamber of Commerce wholly endorses the decision by Business Minister Mark Prisk and Decentralisation Minister Greg Clark on 23rd September to approve a Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) for Northamptonshire. The LEP will represent over 24,000 businesses within the County and will be coordinated by the Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership.
Alan Piggot, Chamber President, stated ‘this is a great opportunity for Northamptonshire to coordinate and plan for future investment within the County. We congratulate the team in achieving this status and wish to work with them to ensure that Wellingborough receives the level of investment and promotion necessary in order to continue to thrive and prosper’.
Wellingborough has a great deal to offer and can be central within any plans to develop the County. Over 6,000 homes have been approved for development and major infrastructure is planned around Wellingborough which would largely be private sector led and would open up employment sites creating the potential for thousands of jobs.
Alan commented that ‘It’s great that Northamptonshire now has this focus for business led development our job at the Wellingborough Chamber will be to work with partners to maximise the opportunities going forward for Wellingborough’.
